This morning our ship and all therein (who were awake) were greeted by what appeared would be a very gloomy, overcast day.

However, as the day progressed, as the following images will attest, we were blessed with clear skies and calm waters.

I was thrilled to be on deck for the arrival of the National Park boat and the small group of rangers and local presenters who would be with us for most of the day.

At breakfast, Ranger Amber, shared some good weather predictions for the day, and her words were true.

As we sailed toward the upper reaches of Glacier Bay, smaller bits of ice soon became ‘Ice Fields’ which signaled our approach to ‘calving’ glaciers.

As we retraced our track here is a panoramic view of the “Grand Pacific” (brown mound center), and “Johns Hopkins” on the left.

And finally, the rocky debris that is all that remains of a once mighty river of ice.

I hope I did not bore you with my images – it was a most magical day.
Next; Our final Port of Call, Ketchikan, before our arrival in Vancouver BC on Wednesday.
