Just days before our departure to the “Top of The World”, on the ms Prinsendam, another family member went on his own adventure.
Our son Jonathan, and three other companions summited Mount Baker, Washington. This has been one of Jon’s dreams for years. Twice in the past he and his buddies were thwarted by bad weather, but as you can see in this photo, (Jon is on the left) that dream finally became a reality.
Mount Baker, elevation 10,778 feet, is a part of the Cascade range and is located in northeast Washington near the Canadian Border.
In order to summit this mountain the climbers must have a leader that is well versed in ice climbing, Jon was that leader.
CONGRATULATIONS, Jonathan! What a remarkable achievement!
I suspect there are a two VERY proud parents right about now….even if they are a tad jet-lagged. 🙂
WOW!!! It’s 112 degrees here and you are in snow. What an amazing adventure for you. Congratulations!
Good for you Jon! Even if I don’t know why, I celebrate your success at doing so. I’m sure your Mom and Dad and very proud. My best to you always.
thank you for spreading the word dad. This trip was a great success for all involved including Jacobs wife laura and two dogs (max and gorin) who watched us climb from the safety of base camp at 6400′.
