Cruise report supplemental for Thursday 4 October 2007

I have not been to successful getting access to the internet from the ship lately.

Our ship sailed into Yokohama Bay right on time this morning. We were off the ship and on our five hour tour of Tokyo by 9:30. One and one half hours there and one hour back.

Right now Barbara and I are sitting in an Internet café in Yokohoma, catching up on our email.

This morning we toured the EDO – Tokyo museum in downtown Tokyo, Fascinating displays. Then we visited the Senso-ji or Asakusa Kannon Temple where a golden image of the Buddhist goddess, or Kannon, is enshrined. The Nakamise Shopping Arcade leads to the Sensoji GTemple and is one of the oldest shopping streets in Japan. The arcade dates from the late 17th century, when local people were granted the special right to open shops along the approach to the temple. It was very popular today as there were many school children visiting.

Well my hour is about up so I guess I had better sign off, the last shuttle to the ship leaves Yokohama Station in an hour. We sail right after midnight.

Next port: Kobe, Japan, with an all day tour to Kyoto.
